Dr. Ashok N. Johari is synonymous with Paediatric Orthopaedics in India. He spearheaded the development of this specialty in India with a very illustrious career. After a brilliant career in Orthopaedics, he started a paediatric orthopaedic unit at the LTM Medical College at Sion, Mumbai in end 1985 and further developed this field at the Children’s Orthopaedic Hospital and Wadia Children’s Hospital in Mumbai. He took leadership position in organising the Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of India (POSI) in 1994.

Dr. Johari was appointed Chief Editor of the prestigious international Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics (B) in 2006, President of POSI in 2005, Indian Academy of Cerebral Palsy in 2008, Indian Orthopaedic Association in 2010, Asia Pacific Knee Society in 2012, SICOT World Congress in 2013, Asia Pacific Paediatric Orthopaedic Society in 2017 and World Association Against Infection in Orthopaedics and Trauma in 2019. He is the President Elect of SICOT, the International Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology and will be President in 2020. Dr. Johari was awarded the FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons, London and also honored as a Fellow of the prestigious National Academy of Medical Sciences of India and as a Hon. Fellow of the Slovak Orthopaedic and Trauma Society.

Professor Benjamin Joseph M.Ch Orth, MS Orth, MBBS is the former Head of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Service and Professor of Orthopaedics at Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, India. He is currently Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at Aster Medcity in Kochi, India. Dr. Joseph completed his orthopaedic residency at the Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, India and obtained his M.Ch at the University of Liverpool. He trained in Pediatric Orthopaedics at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital and the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool, UK.

Dr. Joseph is particularly known for his expertise in Perthes disease. He is also well known for authoring the textbooks “Pediatric Orthopaedics – A System of Decision-Making” and “Paediatric Orthopaedic Diagnosis – Asking the right questions”. Dr. Joseph is heavily involved on editorial boards for pediatric orthopaedic journals and serves as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery Open Access. Dr. Joseph has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on various pediatric orthopaedic disorders and has presented lectures as a visiting professor and invited speaker on various pediatric orthopedic topics throughout the world.

Dr. Marc Sinclair graduated in medicine from the University of Tuebingen, Germany. He completed his orthopaedic residency in Germany and Switzerland, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. After returning to Germany he was appointed as Deputy Chief at the Department of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at the Altona Children’s Hospital, University of Hamburg.

In 2006 Dr. Marc moved to Dubai where he has continued to practice as a Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon where he holds surgical privileges at the American and Medcare Hospital in Dubai.

Dr. Marc offers both surgical and non-surgical treatments for a wide range of bone and joint conditions in children. His clinical interests include children with musculoskeletal deficiencies including congenital and acquired limb deformities and deformities to the spine. He also has particular expertise in the treatment of clubfeet using the Ponseti method, on which he has lectured in many countries worldwide. Other areas of expertise include spinal deformities such as scoliosis as well as congenital conditions of the hip and neuromuscular conditions.

Dr. Marc is a member of the European Pediatric Orthopaedic Society (EPOS), AO Spine Middle East and a member of the medical advisory board to the Ponseti International Association. He is author and co-author of numerous publications in peer reviewed journals and a regular speaker at international meetings worldwide. Dr. Pauline Christmas is a consultant physiotherapist for the management of spasticity in children at Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust. In 2009, she won a clinical doctorate research award to undertake a PhD at the University of Birmingham. The research project has compared two methods of constraint induced movement therapy for children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy. She was awarded her PhD in July 2016. http://etheses.bham.ac.uk/6571/ The randomized controlled trial that was conducted and described in the thesis has now been published in Clinical Rehabilitation and attached. Previously, Pauline was awarded a Master of Science degree in research at the University of Birmingham (2002) and her dissertation was based on the development of a new tool for the early identification of cerebral palsy. Her clinical experience in treating children with cerebral palsy spans over 30 years. As a consultant a key role has been setting up community based spasticity management clinics which involved her assessing for botulinum toxin and administering the injections. She also currently has a role as a visiting consultant at the Scottish Centre for Children with Motor Impairment. Pauline has received extensive training from the Bobath Centre in London and for many years has been involved in their tutor training programme. On behalf of the Bobath centre she has led Introductory Paediatric Bobath courses on the treatment and management of cerebral palsy in a number of UK venues. Furthermore, Pauline has taught on the MSc Specialist Neurological Rehabilitation Module and on the physiotherapy undergraduate course at the University of Birmingham.

Dr. Ehtisham graduated from the University of Cambridge in the UK and undertook her clinical training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. She is an exceptionally experienced paediatric endocrinologist who has received many research awards for her investigations into childhood diabetes.

Dr Ehtisham has been a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist at Mediclinic City Hospital in Dubai since May 2016 and is Adjunct Professor of Paediatric Endocrinology at Mohammed Bin Rashid University Medical School in Dubai. Prior to joining Mediclinic City Hospital, she was a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist and Clinical Lead for diabetes at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, UK and she was also an honorary senior lecturer in Endocrinology at the University of Manchester. She has also worked as a Paediatric Endocrinologist in Melbourne, Australia.

Dr. Ehtisham received her PhD in Childhood Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes in 2006 and her CCST in Paediatric Endocrinology in 2007.

Dr Ehtisham is an active member of the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) and is Editor of the ESPE newsletter. She also serves on the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) Advisory Council and is Communications Chair for the Arab Society for Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (ASPED) and is a member of the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED). Dr Ehtisham is on the Middle East Eating Disorder Association (MEEDA) Board of Advisors. She was a member of the UK Royal College of Physicians Working Party on Obesity which published its report in 2013, and was part of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Obesity which meets regularly at the House of Commons in the UK.

Prof. Thomas Nau received his medical degree from the University of Graz, Austria, in 1994. In 2003, he received his Austrian certification in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery from the Medical University of Vienna. Prof. Nau completed his residency in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna in 2003, where he rotated through inpatient and outpatient wards and developed expertise in managing conditions ranging from trauma to sports-related injuries.
Before joining King's College Hospital Dubai, Prof. Nau served in the American Hospital Dubai department of orthopedic surgery as an expert in sports injuries, arthroscopic surgery, and regenerative medicine. In addition, Prof. Nau has an ongoing academic position as Adjunct Professor at the prestigious Vienna-based Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Experimental and Clinical Traumatology, where he clinically leads the ligament and bone regeneration research activities.

Prof. Nau has over 20 years of clinical experience. In addition to specializing in the treatment and diagnosis of sports-related injuries and arthroscopic surgery, he also completed a fellowship in trauma surgery. In addition to his clinical work, Prof. Nau is also published in prominent medical journals, including the American Journal of Sports Medicine, and also serves as reviewer for numerous academic peer-reviewed journals.

Then he returned to his position at the Odense University hospital of Southern Denmark. Research wise, he has more than 23 published papers.
